There were about 25 in attendance, mostly residents, plus attendings and nurses. We covered the following, including some excerpts from the Felix Maus book, and had a lively discussion at the end.

Approach

The way i approach it comes from two (related) disciplines, that of Non-Violent Communication (NVC, which you can read about here: http://cnvc.org/ ) and core Mindfulness (coming from my yoga and meditation experience).

Having three children, and hoping to adopt more, parenting is important to me. I find it uplifting, challenging, instructive, fun, and a great practice for getting more mindful in my life.

A Parenting Class

I'll flesh it all out more in time, but i wanted to share an outline of a parenting class i'm intending to offer, at first to parents in the adoption/foster care system, to help them get through the tough times. You can read more about it here.
